The Want of Wisdom

I wish I could doubt
More than I do
The lies that linger
Until they're true

I wish could I could trust
The truths that stood
Before the truth
Was understood

But factual falsehoods
Ridiculously real
Refuse to foster
The faith I feel

Eroding innocence
And na´vetÚ
To enlighten white
With shades of gray

I wish I could question
The questions raised
When reality
Is re-appraised

I wish I could scoff
And roll my eyes
But the want of wisdom
Is growing wise
